Sun Chemical, represented in Israel by NiRY Group, kept its position in the past year, as the world’s leading ink company, according to Ink World’s report.
According to the report on July 31 2018, the global ink industry had a fairly stable year in 2017. Two major trends characterized the past year. First trend of prices increase of raw materials used for ink manufacturing, due to shortage in several raw materials and pigments.
Second trend was further consolidation in the industry including several major mergers, both within ink manufacturers and the printing industry. For instance, US Sun Chemical acquired UV ink specialist Joules Angstrom UV Printing Inks, as well as PPG’s metal deco ink segment.
Global Sun Chemical kept its position as the leading international ink company, in a considerable distance from its runner up:
