Solvent Based Inks
Solvent based inks include pigment and resin (binder), together constituting the solid component of the ink, diluted using a solvent. Solvent based inks are used for printing in two distinct technologies - Gravure Print and Flexo Print.
Another classification of solvent-based inks is in accordance to the type of print and packaging nature. NiRY markets a wide variety of solvent-based inks, suitable both for surface print and lamination (reverse printing):
- NC Inks: suitable for applications requiring high heat resistance (surface printing) and relatively low lamination strength.
- PVB Inks: designated for lamination works requiring higher lamination strength.
- PVC or PVB-PU Inks: designated for packages required to sustain extreme conditions as pasteurization and retort packaging.
All solvent-based inks marketed by NiRY enable the use of elevated light resistant pigments, possessing an especially high level of LR.
Water Based Inks
Inks composed of pigment and resin are water diluted and therefore ecofriendly. Such ink is used for paper printing such as newspaper or carton. It is mostly common in the area of carton packaging.
NiRY markets water-based inks to all paper types, coated or not, regular and glossy.
Preparation of water based ink for use includes the mixture of paste, varnish and water, is most commonly prepared using ink kitchens, also marketed by NiRY.
In addition, NiRY markets water-based ink additives, including: anti-foam additive, pH-Modifier Additive, Wax additive (scratch resistance), retarder additive (reduces the speed of drying), and more.
UV Inks
These types of inks dry by UV rays. UV inks are suitable for packaging decoration printing and shrink sleeve printing on multiple substrates including coated papers and films. Their immense advantage is fast curing and high level of adhesion.
NiRY markets UV inks for Flexo, Screen and Letterpress prints. These include food packaging compliant (FPC) inks for non-direct food contact, and inks used for special effects, fluorescent colors, metallic colors and more.
